With Christmas right around the corner, I thought I’d make a friendly gift suggestion. Go with jewelry. Maybe it sounds cliché, but I mean it. When jewelry has real thought and meaning behind it, I think it’s one of the best gifts that money can buy. If properly cared for, it lasts a lifetime. It can symbolize, commemorate, congratulate, or send a message.
When Clark met Lucas Goosens at work one night and they started talking, Clark explained The Fitchen and Lucas explained LucasPlus. They stayed in touch and we eventually asked Lucas to advertise on the blog, which made him our very first advertiser.
Since then, Lucas’ work has taken off and he has even caught the eye of the New York Times! We love having LucasPlus on the blog, not only because Lucas is a great friend, but also because we believe in the message behind what he makes.
Lucas dreams and designs each piece in his collection, focusing on his philosophy of positivity. Hence the brand’s name, LucasPlus. He has rings, necklaces, and bracelets in styles that are perfect for both girls and guys. The prices are unbelievably fair, considering both the beauty and the quality of the pieces.
Lucas was kind enough to customize a couple of pieces for Clark and I, and we’ve been wearing them ever since. I went with the Signature Double Plus cuff and Clark chose the Signature Plus ring. Both pieces are engraved with “Cord” and “N.R.” [read Timothy Ferris’ book, 4-Hour Work Week for an explanation of N.R.] My bracelet goes with whatever I’m wearing and it serves as a constant reminder to think positively.
Visit the LucasPlus online store and see what catches your eye. Anything can be customized with engraving for a special touch. A positive piece of jewelry trumps gift cards, clothes, or electronics any day.
