Sweet and Spicy Tofu Burgers

Sweet and Spicy Tofu Burgers – My FAVORITE way to eat tofu. We love to grill these all summer long. Even non-vegans love them!

This tofu burger recipe is juicy, flavorful, and grill-able! Pile it high with your favorite toppings and enjoy at your next cookout.

Ingredients

1 – 14 oz. package extra firm tofu

2 Tablespoons tamari or soy sauce

1 Tablespoon sesame oil or olive oil

1 Tablespoon sriracha

1/2 Tablespoon maple syrup or honey

Spicy Mayo Sauce
1/4 cup vegannaise

1 Tablespoon sriracha

1/2 Tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Combine above ingredients (except tofu) in a large ziplock bag. Shake to combine.

Drain tofu and press to remove as much excess water as possible. Slice the block of tofu in half lengthwise, then use a round cookie cutter to create “patties.”

Gently place tofu patties in the bag and rotate a few times to coat with the marinade. Refrigerate 30 minutes to 4 hours to marinate.

Heat grill to high and arrange tofu patties carefully on the grate. Grill 10 to 12 minutes per side.

Add tofu patty to a bun, pile on your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

Notes

These can also be made in the oven!
Preheat the oven to 400º. Line a baking sheet with parchment and arrange patties on the sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes, flip and return to oven for 8-10 more minutes.
