Description
Decadent, rich chocolate waffles, perfect for a sinful Sunday brunch.
Ingredients

- 1/3 c. oat flour
- 1/3 c. rice flour
- 1/4 c. cocoa powder
- 3 Tbsp. almond meal
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 6 Tbsp. coconut oil
- 1/3 c. sucanat
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 oz. chocolate chips
- 1 Tbsp. chocolate syrup
- 1 Tbsp. dark chocolate shavings [optional]
- 1 Tbsp. powdered sugar [optional]
Instructions
- Whisk together oat flour, rice flour, cocoa powder, almond meal, baking powder, and salt until well-combined.
- Melt 3 oz. chocolate chips and 6 Tbsp. of coconut oil in a double boiler. Stir until melted and combined.
- Remove mixture from the heat and stir in sucanat.
- Turn on waffle iron and spray with olive oil.
- Stir in eggs to chocolate mixture. Add vanilla.
- Add chocolate mixture to flour mixture and stir until combined. Do not over stir.
- Spoon batter into waffle iron.
- Top with powdered sugar, shaved chocolate, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, berries, or whatever your heart desires.
Notes
This recipe makes 6 - 5 inch waffles.
