Description
This frozen sangria recipe is layered with red, white, and blue for a patriotic summer flair. Perfect for summer – Fourth of July or Memorial Day!
Ingredients
Scale
Red Layer
- 2 cups frozen raspberries
- 3/4 cup white wine
- 1 Tablespoon cane sugar (or maple syrup)
White Layer
- 2 1/2 cups ice
- 1/2 cup white wine
Blue Layer
- 3 cups ice
- 2 ounces gin (rum or vodka can be subbed for gin)
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1 Tablespoon cane sugar (or maple syrup)
- 1/4 teaspoon natural blue food coloring *see notes*
Instructions
Red Layer
- It's easiest to blend this layer first because it stays thick. Add ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a large cup or jar and place into the freezer while you create the other layers.
White Layer
- Repeat the steps and set aside in the freezer.
Blue Layer
- It's best to save this layer for last because it's going into the glasses first.
- Add everything to the blender and blend until smooth.
Assemble
- Pour the blue layer into glasses, followed by the white layer, and finishing with the red layer. If you feel like being a perfectionist – which I don't recommend – place a spoon on top of each layer as your pour in the next color. Personally, I think it looks pretty when the colors start to mix together. :)
- Serve and enjoy!
