Ingredients
Scale
For Cocktail
- 4 oz. lemonade [recipe below]
- 2 oz. gold rum
- 2 oz. champagne
- 1 lemon for garnish
- cane sugar for garnish
- mint for garnish
- ice
For Lemonade Ingredient
- 24 oz. water
- juice of 2 lemons [2-3 Tbsp.]
- 2 Tbsp. cane sugar
Instructions
- 1. Begin by making the lemonade. Add lemon juice, water, and sugar to a jar and shake to combine. This lemonade is not on the sweet side and we made it that way for a reason. We wanted to taste the rum without being distracted by an overly sweet lemonade flavor. If you prefer a sweeter drink, simply add more sugar to taste and shake until it is dissolved.
- 2. On a small plate or in a bowl, spread a layer of cane sugar. Wet the rim of the jar and dip it into the sugar.
- 3. Pour 2 shots of rum to the Mason jar, then a hefty portion of ice. Add 4 oz. of lemonade.
- 4. Toss 3-4 thin lemon slices into the jar and top it all off with champagne.
Notes
- The lemonade makes enough for 6 cocktails. Directions are for 1. Simply recreate the recipe for each drink.
