This creamy chocolate espresso protein smoothie recipe is perfect for busy mornings. Get a boost from the protein and espresso and stay full for hours!
Espresso, I love you so. It used to be a thing that you could only get at fancy coffee shops. Nowadays, we have this wonderful invention called the Nespresso machine that means we can make it at home and feel fancy any time we want! Thank you to whoever created this genius contraption.
We can now have slow weekend mornings sipping espresso. Or stay up late with friends drinking espresso mudslides. Or add some to our morning smoothie to get our day started on the right foot. 😏 You see where this is going?
We’re killing two birds with one stone – coffee AND breakfast, all in one convenient, creamy, filling protein smoothie. Toss 5 simple ingredients into the blender, blend it all up, pour it into your favorite to-go mug and you’re out the door!
This recipe is perfect for all you busy morning people because you can prep the espresso ahead of time and store it in the fridge. I’ve tried several brands of pods and flavoured Gourmesso coffee pods are by far my favorite.
A) Because they source fair trade beans. And here's why that's important to me (and should be to everyone.)
B) Because they have some amazing flavors. I LOVE their vanilla flavored espresso.
And C) Because I can order online and have it shipped directly to me. (AKA I'm too lazy to go to the store.)
Let's get a running start into 2017 with these healthy smoothies. I'm thinking they'll come in handy on New Year's Day. 🙌 🙌 🙌
We worked with Gourmesso to create this original recipe. All opinions are my own and I love their fair-trade espresso pods!
