Turkey chili. It's been done a million times before, right? I know. I really debated whether or not to share this recipe. What do I have to add to the turkey chili game? I already have a bean chili and a sweet potato chili and a white chili. What is there that hasn't been done before? The answer is: nothing. No matter the recipe, it's pretty much all been done before. But that doesn't mean I can't throw my own hat into the chili ring.

So that's what I'm doing. I'm sitting here next to a steaming mug – yes, a coffee mug – of this spicy, smoky turkey chili and I'm wishing you were here to help me tackle these leftovers. (Pleeeeease come over? I have cornbread!)

Even if it's *just* another turkey chili recipe, I happen to think it's quite special because:

  • It's super easy to make. 👍
  • Sweet potatoes are. ❤️
  • Quinoa. 💪
  • Southwest smoky chipotle spice. 🌶
  • It's made in da crockpot! 😍

This is the kind of meal that I crave day after day after day this time of year. Pour everything into the crockpot. Flip the switch on high. Go run your errands or take the dog for a sunny fall walk or get coffee with a friend. Come home and inhale deeply. Breathe in that good-good. Serve yourself up a bowl and cozy up to watch the entire new season of Stranger Things.

Speaking of dogs and walking them – Yesterday, we discovered that we live right down the street from an entrance to the "Greenway" which is basically a wide paved trail that winds itself from park to park on the west side of Colorado Springs. We will be taking FULL advantage of this benefit on these last few sunny, warm days of fall.

It was 77º yesterday and it's 45º today. So I'm basically on a turkey diet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No shame in my game.
